Here’s how you can participate in the community

Join LSF mailing lists
Many LSF mailing lists are open to the public and enable you to stay engaged and aware of project updates so that you can contribute when you have time in your schedule. Our team and volunteers also use the mailing lists to shout out for expert help and post about issues they need advice on.
If you’re interested, sign up for one of them, or all of them and connect to the community!

Contribute to Projects
LSF invites anyone to contribute via Github issues. Check out the relevant GitHub repository and documentation, select an issue that matches your skill strengths and send a pull request for review. Some repos will label issues as a “good first issue” to guide you.
If you’re not sure where to start, connect with a member of the team on the mailing list for more information.

Contribute to training materials and workshops
Are you an expert in a particular technology, language or functional domain? Do you enjoy sharing your knowledge with others?
Join us and help us build technical capacity in government organizations through training and knowledge transfers, and enable the government to own, evolve and maintain open source systems well into the future.

If you work in government, get LSF engaged in a project
We are passionate about building open source systems to help the country run better. Open source helps the government build and evolve systems cost effectively and sustainably. It enables government agency teams to invite collaboration from the best and brightest across Sri Lanka.

Attend hackathons and events
LSF hosts hackathons and other events throughout the year.
Follow us on our social media channels and stay updated through our mailing lists to hear about our upcoming events and how you can be a part of them. We’re looking forward to seeing you!

Join the LSF Alumni Group
If you have already contributed to projects, join our LSF Alumni Group to stay in touch with other contributors and volunteers.
